Research and Development

With work on next winter 2012 underway the discussions in the studio turned to textures. Every, single time Nyssa goes anywhere near an op shop she inevatibly comes away with some knitwear. The thought of leaving behind all those amazing knits and textures just because they are in the wrong shapes just kills her. She’s amassed a pretty substantial collection and is always cutting into them to breathe to collage into other, new shapes which breathe new life into the knits. With the cold snap just hitting Melbourne we were talking about that age old dillemma of wanting to be warm and cosy but still feel like we’re actually dressed. The solution was these ‘Jumper Socks’, a quick afternoon cutting and sewing them up and we both walked away with some super cosy, slightly funny socks that I have a feeling will come in handy this winter. Next time your at an op shop and can’t go past a knit, keep us in mind, happy to do some custom work!
